C. File Naming Conventions
From SCOOP Wiki
Because the SCOOP catalog has so many files of different type and origin, there is a consistent naming convention implemented. The conventions that were chosen are interpretable by both machines and humans.
Each file name includes:
- Basic categorizations of data; 1.Data, 2.Atmospheric forcing (e.g. wind) models, 3.Wave/Surge models
- Data instrument source or model name
- Source institutions or systems
- Times (e.g. initial time and forecast period)
- Miscellaneous information (as needed)
Follow these steps to learn how you would name a file if you were to add it into the SCOOP database.
