under Installing the hadoop package. Step 4 states 'Repeat the above steps for all the nodes you want in the virtual cluster. ...'.

If the software at http://archive.canonical.com/ is updated at the wrong time this procedure will cause sync problems. Instead the software should be downloaded just once.

Have you experienced any issues? I can't imagine machines having slightly different versions of glibc or java really affecting Hadoop.
